  • Only CSA-approved equipment is allowed, except for out-of-town teams in which case the rules of their local governing body will apply.
  • The use of helmets is strictly enforced.
  • Standard non-contact rules apply.
  • There is no centre red line in all divisions (blue line icing). Automatic icing in effect.
  • If opposing teams have matching sweaters, the visiting team must change.
  • All players must sign the Scotiabank Hockey for Alzheimer’s game sheet prior to the start of each game.
  • Eligible players are only those listed on the game sheet at the time of play. Players are required to have proper identification on them at all times.

  • Each team will play three games consisting of three 15-minute periods with stop time in the last five minutes of the third period.

  • There is a mercy rule – if a team leads by five or more goals in the third period of the game, running time will commence and only revert back to stop time if the spread is reduced to within five goals.
  • Ties will be broken by a shootout by three players on each team.
  • Any player receiving three minor penalties or a game misconduct will be ejected from the game and any player receiving a match or major fighting penalty will be ejected from the tournament.
